Als operationele synthese van de wending 2010-2020 beoogt zij in enkele sessies een door trauma's of overgangen verstarde identiteit om te vormen tot een vloeiende identiteit die opeenvolgende contexten kan opnemen. Gericht op de aanpassing in het heden in plaats van op de historische oorzaken, is ze geïndiceerd bij PTSS met identiteitsverstoring en dissociatieve stoornissen.
